How can I get my organization's giving report automatically imported?

The Donor Manager knows how to read contribution reports from a number of organizations.  If your organization is not on the list, then read on to find out the process for getting the DM updated to handle your organizations reports.

For most organizations, the Donor Manager uses a custom written gift importer that knows how to interpret your organizations contribution files.

Depending on how your organization supplies your giving information, preparing a gift importer can be a quick process, or a bit more difficult.

A few comments:

• A CSV file (comma separated values) is by far the easiest to work with.
• A PDF is impossible to work with
• An XLS file can often be used.
• A tntMPD format file can often be used.

It is possible that the accounting / IT department of your organization may be able to help prepare a contribution report file that is "DM friendly."
