trailing 12 month giving analysis
trailing 12 month giving analysis
Is there any way to import this report into excel? I like to pull a 12 month report at the end of each month and then manipulate the data in excel. I can usually come pretty close to what we should expect for the next months giving.
Re: trailing 12 month giving analysis
by manipulate, I am not changing the data. I just add a column in excel and look over the past 12 months. Then I decide if I can expect support from that church this coming month. If so, I add the expected amount to the column I added in excel. Then I can just total the column I added.

This would be very useful for me. There are numerous times when I would like to export the Trailing 12 months of support to an excel spreadsheet so I can resort and filter those results in a variety of ways and then cut and paste it into other forms/formats. This functionality would simply my reporting to supporting churches and also my preparation of taxes in Papua New Guinea.

Re: trailing 12 month giving analysis
I was looking over messages here on the forum today and ran across this thread again.
Then I remembered, the new report preview tool allows you to export reports as xls files.
So, actually, this feature is already built into the program.
Here's how to use it:
Step 1: Go to the Trailing 12 Month Giving Analysis Report. Select that item.
Step 2: Select your dates and say <Preview> the report. Let it crunch the numbers and generate the report preview.
Step 3: On the report preview toolbar, click on the <Save> icon and choose <Save as XLS>
Step 4: Save the name and location to save the xls file. The DM will generate a copy of the report in Excel and then you can work with is as you wish.
Let me know how that works for you.
