Envelope Template File

Post by rentanaardvark »

I am using 6.05.05. In order to create envelopes, I had to go into my Donor 5 file, find the template for envelopes and manually move it over to my Donor 6 file. It then worked just fine, however, part of my job is teaching our members how to use this software. If the member is new, he or she shouldn't have to download Donor 5 just to get that one file for Donor 6. Am I maybe missing something or is there a way that the envelope template can be included in the Donor 6 download?

Thank you!

Thanks for asking.

DM 6 is supposed to create an envelope template as needed.

If it doesn't then that sounds like a bug I need to fix.

But you can create an envelope template on demand.

There is an option on the pull down tools menu at the very top of the screen (File / Edit / Tools) that says something like "Create a new envelope template."

That should do it.

Thanks for asking about this.

Thank you! I didn't know I needed to tell it to create a template. Followed your instructions and it's working now. Thank you for your help!

Well, actually, you should not have to tell it to create a template.

It should do it "on the fly" during the first run.

But, apparently that didn't work in your case, and I'll double check the coding for that routine to see if there is a problem in there.

But, this little option on the /Tools menu is handy for things like this.

I'm glad you got it working OK now.
