How to fix a "record out of range" error

If you get an error message that says "Record out of range", this can generally be fixed by running the "Pack and Reindex Data Files" option that is on the "pull down" tools menu at the very top of the screen.

Hi John,
I get this error when adding a gift in the manual gift entry. I'm have version 5.7 and the 'pack and reindex data files' is no longer there. Do you have any other fix? I'm not too worried as it seems to still add the gift despite the error message.
btw I see you are based in Kampala now (I've been here 5 years now) - slightly safer downtown than Nairobery...
Any help appreciated
