Date entry day/month ordering

I'm based in Australia, and we always order our short dates dd/mm/yy (e.g. 31/01/2017 or 31/01/17).
When Donor Manager displays dates (e.g. under "Touches" or "Giving Details"), it displays them in an unambiguous way ("31-Jan-17"), but the date entry fields (e.g. "Add Touch") always expect dates to be entered in the American order. I find this very confusing, as I have to keep mentally switching between date formats, and asking myself, "which one's the month again?".
I would love it if Donor Manager could either have a setting for whether date entries are dd/mm/yyyy or mm/dd/yyyy, or alternatively if it could somehow use the system locale settings to decide this.
