Tab selection

Can DM be designed to select the whole next field when you tab over/down? I find the spacing is often funny (a whole bunch of spaces after the last text character in a field) and it makes it more difficult to copy/paste/cut/replace when you have to manually select the text.

Yes, it can.
But, it can be dangerous! As the DM saves your data as you edit it field by field (as opposed to waiting for you to click some <Save> button to save all changes or <Cancel> to revert all changes) an accidental hit of <anything> could result in loss of data.
That's the reason for the current behavior.
But let me investigate how hard it would be to make that a user definable option ... where you can turn it on or off in the program settings.
