Bulk edit of records/fields

Post by Will-0 »

I'd like to be able to edit fields in bulk for some/all the records of my donor database. For instance, I'm not making good use of the "Active" tick-box, and would like to re-purpose it and clear all the default check-marks. I do not see how to do this except manually, one by one. Help?

Great question.

Try this.

Go to the Partners List, and look at the drop down that is normally titled "Normal View."

Change that to "Lists and Profile."

That should help make it easier to update a lot of these Yes / No fields easily.

You can combine this with the "Filter" option.

For example, you can set the Filter to be "Active only" ... then you will see just those partners who you have tagged as active.

Or you could set the filter to "Inactive only" to quickly review and update those.

But there is no "Set all partners to be active" option (although it would not be too hard to program it in there, actually).

Let me know if that helps.
