recording a one time gift

Post by GNG2PNG »

Hi,
I'm new to DM. My husband and I are Wycliffe Members preparing to go to PNG. I'm unsure of the proper way to record a one time gift. Can someone please advise me?
Thanks!

how to handle special gifts

Post by jmuehleisen »

The Donor Manager doesn't distinguish between a "special gift" (or a "one time gift") and a gift that is from a regular supporter.

Now, if you do enter the gifts manually, you can set up a special gift category called "Special Gifts" as a "gift motive" or a "fund" and then set that up when entering the gift, if you want.

Just another quick comment:

Note that I used the phrase "special gift" as opposed to "one time gift." Here's a link to an article on why I think the phrase "one time gift" should be banished from your support raising vocabulary:

The frequency of the gift is entered on the Donor Master screen, near the bottom left side.

See if this helps:
