installed to CD

I downloaded a full download of 5.77 and saved to a CD I had formatted to act as a flash drive/usb.
I tried to open the program from the disk and I kept getting a program error message, "invalid path or file name". Is the program complete on the disk? I want to use it to make a new install on another computer, and to have as a back-up disk for the program. I don't need to run it from the disk, I just wanted to verify the program was there.
