Re: Linux install went well but...

Oops! I realized as soon as I posted that I didn't answer your question at all. You probably already knew what I mentioned. My solution is to just create an .xls file and export and do a mail merge in OOo Writer. Not perfect, but workable. (Which very well could be the motto for Linux in my opinion!...

Re: Linux install went well but...

Hi, I also use Linux and DM and ran into the same issue. My solution was to manually browse to the template file and make changes by opening it up in Openoffice. The file you are looking for is found in /home/<your_username_goes_here>/.wine/drive_c/donor5/ It should be called "envelope.doc" Hope thi...

Re: bulk email w attachments?

Just a thought, What if you used a filter to select the donors you wished to send the e-mail to, then exported the data in a comma separated values file (the third option of the three export options) and then open the comma separated values file and copy the e-mail addresses into Outlook. Re: Adaptable for Linux and Netscape?

Yeah, actually that's the very DLL that it said there was problems with. zipit.dll in the system32 folder.
Well, I'm glad to hear that it's working in Ubuntu 8.04 LTS, apparently it also works in 9.10. Hallelujah!

I love the new look to DM! Definetly a good thing.

Re: Adaptable for Linux and Netscape?

Well, to comment on my previous post, I downloaded DM6 beta 10, installed via WINE, and ran the program. It opened without a problem, although on install it gave me an error about a DLL file. Next I'll need to try DM with some data to see if it works.

Thanks for this great program,

Re: Adaptable for Linux and Netscape?

HI, I'm new to this forum, but I thought I'd say that as a missionary who uses Linux, I'd be happy to test DM6 beta on my Ubuntu Linux 9.10 computer. I'll download it, test it in WINE (I've got the latest WINE for Ubuntu which is 1.1.35). I'll post what happens, as I really want DM to work with WINE...
